Choosing the right water cooler

Every water cooler on this page is a commercial-grade unit from Waterworks or Aqua Cooler. The right model comes down to three questions: is there a mains water line nearby, how many people will use it, and do you have floor or bench space?

Plumbed-in water coolers

Plumbed-in water coolers (also called mains-connected or point-of-use coolers) connect straight to your water supply. There are no bottles to order, lift or store, so they suit busy offices, gyms and staff rooms. Models like the Waterworks D5 and SD19 are drain-free, so no wastewater plumbing is needed, and the D25 delivers up to 35 litres of chilled water an hour. The Aqua Cooler Maximus has a 14-litre cold tank for busy workplaces.

Bottled water coolers

Bottled water coolers need only a power point, so you can put them anywhere. Choose a top-load model like the Waterworks B26, a bottom-load model like the BL25 that removes heavy lifting, or the touch-free B28 sensor cooler. Add a self-fill filter bottle and you can fill it from the tap instead of buying bottled water.

Bench top water coolers

Bench top water coolers such as the SB5, SB19 and SD5 sit on a kitchen bench or counter. They are a good fit for reception areas, kitchenettes and small offices where floor space is tight.

Hot and cold, or room and cold?

Most of our coolers come in two versions. Hot and cold models add a hot tank with a child safety tap, which is handy for tea and coffee. Room and cold models give chilled water plus room-temperature water, which many people find easier to drink in larger amounts.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a bottled and a plumbed-in water cooler?

A bottled water cooler uses large replaceable water bottles and only needs a power point. A plumbed-in (mains-connected) water cooler connects to your water supply, so it never runs out and there are no bottles to buy or store.

Which water cooler is best for an office?

For most offices with a nearby water line, a plumbed-in cooler such as the Waterworks D5 or D25 is the most practical because it never needs bottle changes. If there is no water line, a bottom-load bottled cooler like the BL25 avoids heavy lifting.

Do your water coolers come with a warranty?

Yes. Waterworks water coolers come with a 3-year comprehensive warranty. The Aqua Cooler Maximus comes with a 12-month comprehensive warranty.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery is free on orders over $150 to all states except WA. WA delivery is $49 on orders over $150. Orders under $150 are $15 (WA $64).

Can I get a tax invoice before paying?

Yes. Schools, councils and businesses can request a tax invoice online and pay by bank transfer. We email the invoice within one business day.

Do plumbed-in water coolers need a plumber?

Yes. Plumbed-in water coolers should be installed by a licensed plumber to the manufacturer's instructions and local requirements.
